Our Purchase Process
Please feel free to inquire about our puppies. At the same time, it is very helpful if you give me some background or information about you and/or your family. I will need to know what type of labrador you are seeking, along with color and/or gender, if desired. After the initial information and discussions, if you are interested in adopting one of our pups, I would ask for a deposit.
The deposit amount is $500. The remaining balance is due on pick-up day. This commitment states that you would like to either be on our list or purchase a specific pup. The order in which we receive your deposit determines the order of choice. The sooner a deposit is made, the more choices you will have. Our puppies are frequently reserved before being born. Once I receive your deposit, I will send you a deposit receipt for your records.
Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. Deposits will not be returned for any reason. When you commit to a puppy, potential families are turned away or put on a waiting list due to limited availability. The only exception to this rule is if the puppy you reserve (color and/or gender) is not produced, I will refund your deposit at your request. Although, you always have the option to choose the next available puppy or move to the next litter.
Deposits can be made via check or PayPal. PayPal payments made with credit cards are charged an additional PayPal fee. Payments made directly from a bank account using PayPal have no additional fee. Please let me know the method you choose before sending any payment.
Selection and Pick-Ups
Once you have made a deposit for a particular puppy or litter, I will periodically send you updates and pictures. You can expect newborn, 2 week old, 4 week old, and 6 week old pictures. This allows families to watch the puppies grow and change from day 1 until they are ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks old. I will also forward a helpful packet of information and tips to help you prepare for your new puppy.
The scheduled pick-up day will be announced once the puppies are born. This is usually on a weekend day. Typically, we do not schedule pick-ups during the week due to family commitments unless it lands on a holiday weekend. If the pick-up day is a problem due to a vacation, etc., please let me know in advance. I schedule families in the order of deposit on pick-up day, giving everyone plenty of time to meet, interact, and discuss all important information regarding your puppy.
At 6 weeks, I will send directions and any additional information you need to know before pick-up.
The remaining balance will be due on pick-up day unless paid in advance. We ask for cash on the pick-up day or PayPal if arranged ahead of time. No checks are accepted at this point.
I hope the above helps with some of your specific questions about our puppy process. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask. I am available to answer questions or help in any way I can before and after you take your puppy home. I stay in contact with many of my puppy families and love receiving updates and pictures!
